Constraint
Extending the aluminum hand wash range from gel into foam, carrying the learnings from the first aluminum bottle.
Two hard parts. What aluminum forming will actually allow. And how a person standing at a shelf, or scrolling a grid of thumbnails, can tell at a glance that this one foams and the one next to it doesn't.
Decision
Taller and thinner. A clear difference in proportion is legible at any size, which matters when the two bottles sit next to each other and when they're both small images on a screen. The material and the finish stay identical, so the two still read as one family. Only the silhouette separates them.
Impact extrusion set the limit on how far that could go. Aluminum can only be drawn inward so much after forming before the walls thicken, tear or cause problems downstream, so a large S-curve transition was not available. What the process allowed was a shallower curve, and the differentiation had to come from overall proportion rather than from a dramatic waist.
That turned out to be the better answer commercially as well as formally. A simpler section forms more efficiently, and the bottle still had to hold the rest of what Method asks of a package: worth leaving on the counter, finishes that sit alongside the ones already in the room, and a body durable enough to be refilled rather than replaced.
Finish
Impact-extruded recyclable aluminum, satin colored coating, custom molded foaming pump. Four launch scents.
